Something about all the attention Neil Armstrong’s death is getting doesn’t sit right with me. We have gotten three internal memos already from Administrator Bolden on it, calling Armstrong a “true American hero” and praising his bravery and professionalism.
Thing is, Sally Ride passed away a…
It’s all there underneath, everything we’ll ever need
You and I
Look around you will see, broken minds and shattered dreams
Wasted time
But I don’t mind losing sleep, squeezing through the cracks between
Day and night
It’s such a long shot, everything that we’ve got
Just living on this rock, surrounded by the sea
With our shoes off, balancing on rooftops
You put your faith in preachers
I put my faith in me.
Given time we could’ve seen, all the things he could’ve been
If he’d tried

Stood in line
But that’s not enough for me, I will kick and I will scream
Tell you why
It’s such a long shot, everything that we’ve got
Just living on this rock, surrounded by the sea
With our shoes off, balancing on rooftops
You put your faith in preachers
I put my faith in me
I don’t wanna waste your time
I don’t wanna waste your time
It’s such a long shot, everything that we’ve got
Just living on this rock, surrounded by the sea
With our shoes off, balancing on rooftops
You put your faith in preachers
I put my faith in me.

This is my first tumblr post, occuring on the occasion of my last night in Dakar for 6 weeks. I’m going home to the UK for a holiday. It’s all very confusing, I’m I going home or leaving home? I’m actually not that confused, home is anywhere you want it to be.
I am looking forward to the rain. There is something so completely blissful about rain. And when you haven’t seen it for virtually six months it will be such a welcome release to feel it falling from the sky again. Until, of course, my toes are soaked, my belongings damp and the mud is rising around my knees. But before then, the thought of unlimited water, just, falling from the sky is a pretty magical thing.
So, expect this place to be filled with my mind wanderings, shiny things, and anything else. Stick around, it might get interesting… Y’never know.
